The work on the floor explores the observations that can be made by looking at the ground in Las Vegas, Nevada. The city’s floors reveal more than its dazzling lights and glamorous surfaces; they expose another, perhaps more truthful, face of the city.
The photographs depict a variety of floor surfaces and patterns, from vomit and marble to colorful carpets that absorb the dirt and traces of excess. They bring together contrasts such as wealth and poverty, concrete and polished marble, day and night.
